Sludge convulses, shudders, and oozes forth from the industrial machine. Gnarled Horse Throat grind it out in full display, all over the floor.
Backed with remixes by Finland's sonic dub experimentalist Luke Lund, and the original heavyweight beast Mick Harris (Scorn). With three further versions by GHT themselves on top of their six original cuts, 'A Futile Stream of Commands' is all heft, all murk, all Darkfloor Sound.
The origins are murky, but Gnarled Horse Throat started in 2008 at either the Garfield Artworks in Pittsburgh or 'Breakcore Pancakes' at the From the Gut loft in Detroit. Regardless, Dave and Nick have been trawling the electronic sewers for odd sludge since.
Recorded in 2018/2019, 'A Futile Stream of Commands' represents two protein bags on the brink… strapped in to a disorderly room full of spasming modulars and a drum machine.
This album isn't meant to align with any outside trends, it is simply an ongoing conversation between friends.
Huge thanks to Mick Harris and Luke Lund for their excellent versions.

For almost 25 years, I have been listening to early Celluloid Mata, Imminent Starvation, Esplendor Geometrico, and many who tiptoe around this territory, including myself, but this project is beyond my imagination. Incredible. TARANTULA FACE
